Friendly Honda Maintenance Minder & Repair
The technicians in the Friendly Honda Service Department are maintenance and repair experts, which makes it easy for you to keep your vehicle safe and operating at peak performance on the road.
Honda cars are equipped with a maintenance minder system. This monitoring system automatically reads sensors to alert Honda owners of a recommended factory maintenance schedule. The maintenance minder system protects your vehicle because it:
- Preserves warranty coverage
- Keeps your Honda running in peak performance
- Helps avoid unexpected and costly repairs
- Indicates Service according to Honda Maintenance Schedule
HOW IT WORKS
The maintenance minder found in Honda vehicles monitors a number of variables to determine when the time is right for you to bring your Honda in for a Genuine Honda oil change.
When remaining service life of your engine reaches 15%, you will be alerted on your dashboard by a "SERVICE DUE SOON" message. Along with this message, a letter (A or B) indicating the required service type will appear.
NOTE: The oil percentage number display on your Honda's Maintenance Minder is an indication of oil LIFE, not oil LEVEL.
Depending on the mileage at the time of your required oil change, additional required maintenance items indicated by numeric sub symbols (1 to 7) will also appear. These sub symbols are accumulated between oil change intervals in order to make it convenient for you to properly maintain your Honda.
Having your vehicle's maintenance, service, and repairs done at Friendly Honda ensures that factory-trained technicians will use Genuine Honda Parts to complete the job.
WHAT'S WITH THE WRENCH?
A question we get a lot is, "What does the little yellow wrench mean?"
If the yellow wrench icon appears on your Honda's dashboard, it is a notification of an upcoming recommended service interval. By 2007, all new Honda models were equipped with a maintenance minder system to take the guesswork out of servicing your vehicle. It uses sensor readings, as well as mileage, driving conditions and other factors to calculate when an oil change or service needs to be performed.
